Terrace Hills West to Valley View Loop is a delightfully quick loop that starts from the Terrace Hills Trailhead. The route has excellent views of Salt Lake Valley, the Foothills, Wasatch Mountains, and City Creek Canyon. There are many different intersecting trails along this route, so taking a map or GPS is helpful to make sure you stay on track.

Getting there

From downtown Salt Lake City, head north on 200 W. Turn right onto W North Temple St and then left (north) onto B St E. Turn right onto 11th Avenue until it intersects with Terrace Hills Dr. Turn left onto Terrace Hills Dr. and head north until the road ends in a cul-de-sac. There is no designated parking lot, but you can park along the street before you reach the no parking signs.

The trailhead.
Although it wasn't functioning in the winter, this dog bath at the start of the trail could be a fun way for your dog to cool off in the summer.

Valley View Trail
The Terrace Hills East Trail connects with the Valley View Trail. This is the same trail that leads to Avenues Twin Peaks.
The Terrace Hills East Trail has fantastic views of the foothills and Wasatch Mountains.
The top of a connector trail to the Bobsled Trail, a popular downhill trail for mountain bikers.
When you reach the top of the ridge, go through the wooden gates and take the trail on the left.
You can see into City Creek Canyon from the top of the ridge.
