The Wagner Spring Trail is a relatively quick hike up the foothills that ends with beautiful views of Salt Lake Valley and Emigration Canyon. It features a small wooded section with a pond and spring, offering shade and water for you and your pups.

Established in 1865 at the mouth of Emigration Canyon, the Wagener Brewery used to be near here. At the time, it stood as Utah’s largest brewery and one of the West’s largest. Unfortunately, it burned down in a fire in 1914.

Getting there

A small dirt parking lot is next to the trailhead along E Sunnyside Avenue Canyon Road. When heading east, drive past Hogle Zoo and look for the trailhead on your left before entering Emigration Canyon. When the parking lot is full (common on the weekends), you can park along the north side of E Sunnyside Avenue just west of the trailhead.
