Located in the foothills of North Salt Lake, the Wild Rose Loop is a scenic 2-mile trail that offers excellent views of the Great Salt Lake and Antelope Island. The route’s highlight is the overlook named Sunset Point, which you’ll see after hiking 1 mile. There is moderate elevation gain, but the grade is always pretty gentle, and there are several benches along the way, making this a great trail for the whole family. But watch out for the mountain bikes that share the trail.

Getting there

From downtown Salt Lake City, take I-15 North and take exit 312 toward U.S. Highway 89 N. Turn right onto Eagle Ridge Drive, go straight at the roundabout, and continue driving for 1.6 miles. Turn right onto Eaglepointe Drive, followed by a left onto Sky Crest Lane. The trailhead is located next to a parking lot at the end of Sky Crest Lane. There’s a restroom, a pavilion, and a playground at the trailhead.
