At 2.6 miles and with easy access, this loop along the Bonneville Shoreline Trail near the mouth of Emigration Canyon is an excellent after-work hike or run with your dog. Along the way, you’ll see pretty views of This Is The Place Heritage Park and Salt Lake Valley. It’s also a good option in the winter after it snows because it’s relatively low elevation and gets quickly tracked out due to its popularity.

Getting there

This trail has the same trailhead as the Wagner Spring Trail. A small dirt parking lot is next to the trailhead along E Sunnyside Avenue Canyon Road. When heading east, drive past Hogle Zoo and look for the trailhead on your left before entering Emigration Canyon. When the parking lot is full (common on the weekends), you can park along the north side of E Sunnyside Avenue just west of the trailhead.
